Residencies

Residencies

Arts Unfold produces the following three programmed art residencies. Luminous Bodies asks artists to represent the body in most diverse ways, Naked State explores the nude in context of nature, culture and art, and Once Upon Water explores the material and magical notions of water. Once Upon Water debuted in the Azores archipelago (Portugal) in 2017, is currently running on Toronto Island (Canada). There are plans to bring it back to the Azores in 2020.

Funding

Arts Unfold works with partnering communities to subsidize its residencies, of which have been subsidized up to 50%. Artists are encouraged to apply for funding through their federal, provincial and municipal arts councils, and other sources. For example, artists in the province of Ontario in Canada can apply to residency and travel grants through Ontario Arts Council and Canada Council for the Arts. Some of these include: OAC National and International Residency grantCCA International Residencies program and CCA Travel Grants to Professional Artists in the Visual Arts. Artists worldwide can apply to the various funding sources listed here: Res Artis funding sources by region and On the Move’s mobility funding by region.
